说明：这个品种在命名的初期人们还认为可能是一个园艺品种，直到P.V. Bruyns在南非东开普省发现它的野外种群才确定，该学名是沿用1880年命名的名字，园艺栽培历史悠久，国内很多温室在早期就栽培该品种，作为一个瓦苇栽培者，这个品种是需要收集的种类。
