Haworthia arachnoidea var. nigricans (Haw.) M.B.Bayer
俗名：紫牡丹
说明：这是一种叶边刺毛较少的品种，也被叫做“颚叶瓦苇”(Jaws-Haworthia)。在生长期叶子比较翠绿，之所以被当做紫牡丹的一种，是因为在很长的生长停滞期（休眠期）叶子前断总是干枯成紫褐色，而且它的花和其它毛牡丹类是一致的。这个类型和包菜瓦苇(H. mucronata)非常近似，区别之处除了叶尖紫色之外，还是由于包菜瓦苇的叶子多少带有点透明。虽然这个类型并不是非常稀少的品种，但由于栽培和繁殖数量少，通常比较少见。栽培上不是十分困难，但夏季潮湿高温会致使其叶腐而死，喜欢在凉爽的季节快速生长。

In the photos, this sparsely-setae form of H.nigricans is regarded as the species H.mucronata, and the difference between two spices is that H.mucronata have translucent leaves. |
